An Introduction To Aboriginal Dreamtime

The Dreaming or Wangarr (in Aboriginal) is the period of creation, the responsibility of creational beings, and the framework of laws that guides Aboriginal action. Each Aboriginal clan has their own ancestral entities. Members of clans perform songs and ceremonies that have been passed down through the generations and also have the responsibility of creating ceremonial objects in the likeness of the entities seen in the Dreaming to activate life sustaining powers. The entities found in the Dreaming provide practical knowledge necessary to support everyday life such as how to hunt, fish, and prepare toxic foods found in the Aboriginal diet.
